Files split into content-defined chunks. Save a 144 MB master after a small edit and only the changed chunks upload, about 10 MB. Stored versions compact automatically, so keeping history costs a fraction of what you would expect.

Who counts as a maker?
Anyone who signs in to do work. Clients and reviewers join as guests: they see only what they are assigned to, and they never count toward a seat.
What happens when we add a sixth person?
Your first five stay free. Seat six costs $30 per month, and every seat beyond that costs the same. The bill moves only when your team does.
Is there a trial?
No timer. The free tier runs indefinitely for up to five makers. Paid features switch on when you grow past five, not when fourteen days run out.
How big can my files be?
Free uploads go up to 1 GB. Paid plans handle multi-gigabyte masters with resumable transfers, and delta sync means re-saved files upload only their changes.
Which file types preview inside Vellum?
Photoshop, Illustrator, EPS, InDesign previews, PDF, CAD drawings (DWG/DXF), 3D models (GLB), video, audio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ZIP archives, and plain text or code.
Where does our data live?
Each organization gets its own private storage scope. Downloads and previews run through short-lived signed URLs, and sign-in supports two-factor authentication.
Do you have native apps?
Native iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS, and Windows apps are in final testing. The web app works on any device today, including phones and tablets.
Can we get our work out later?
Anytime. Notes export to DOCX, PDF, or Markdown, and files download whenever you want them.
